Responsible for sourcing and negotiation of global agreements with primary emphasis on Product Development involving multiple technology partners involving Hardware, Firmware, Protocols, Software including SaaS (Software as a Service). Products/Software may range from IoT Protocols, Cloud technologies, Data and analytics, and API based software 

  • Align Honeywell product and technology roadmaps with innovative suppliers – identify enabling technologies and actively pursue supply chain solutions. 

     
  • Develop strategy and process to quickly onboard new technology partners 

     
  • Stay abreast of breakthrough cloud and connectivity technologies in the IoT eco systems, including attending innovation and technology conferences. 

     
  • Work cross-functionally to understand product needs. 

     
  • Maintain and provide current understanding of industry best practices and technology trends on the Connected IoT Eco space. 

     
  • Lead execution and provide assessments of enabling technologies including strategy, rapid prototype, architecture and design, build, assemble, test, pilot. 

     
  • Incorporate supplier roadmaps in alignment with Honeywell products. 

     
  • Execute supplier summits and informational meetings (lunch & learns). 

     
  • Document and articulate solution architecture and lessons learned. 

     
  • Provide input into opportunity identification, prioritization, and estimation to help manage innovation portfolio. 

     
  • Provide benefit analysis of innovative technologies in terms of performance, quality, reliability and cost. 

     
  • Actively support the generation, co-development and protection of Intellectual Property for key breakthrough technologies. 

     
  • Implement best-in-class software category management strategies to maintain a forward-thinking software category plan 

     
  • Ensure alignment, knowledge transfer and transition of proven concepts to NPI teams. 

     
  • Ensure alignment to Honeywell Building Technology Platforms across software stack. 

     
  • Align NPI and CE/VE project teams with sourcing to understand capabilities, identify opportunities and partner development with Gold and Preferred Suppliers  

     
  • Foster partnerships with labs, academia and cross-functional/cross-SBG experts.

You Must Have:  

  • Bachelors degree 

     
  • Minimum of 7 years of previous working experience, of which 3 years in the software categorization, IT industry 

     
  • Experience of standard sourcing needs in software including Cyber security, Data privacy, IP ownerships etc. 

     
  • Experience in data storage and management, cloud hosted solutions, SaaS and PaaS (Platform as a service) 

     
  • IT/Software categories including: Cloud software, Web services, Mobility platform (iOS/Android), Data Analytics and visualization, Video streaming services and consumer billing platforms 

     
  •

  • MS preferred degree in Computer or associated engineering. Software sourcing experience desirable.  

     
  • Software Sourcing including Statement of Work definitions, IP ownership negotiations, management of Cyber security, Data privacy, Quality criteria, Change controls  

     
  • Experience in negotiation IP, value-based pricing
