   Position Description  The Distribution Center (DC) Analyst enables operational performance by analyzing vast datasets and providing actionable tools to leadership. Their analysis will drive smart decision making that focuses on optimizing customer service, while minimizing cost and focusing on safety. The DC Analyst is challenged to find new ways of doing things to make our processes more efficient, which often leads to managing multiple projects at once. They are often asked to represent the DC Operations team in broad-impacting projects across Grainger’s supply chain. The need to understand our operations, build relationships, and support multiple projects requires travel throughout North America averaging about 1 week per quarter. Typical work days include a mix of collaborating with peers, communicating with DC leaders, and working independently. 
  • Develop and maintain Access and Excel based tools 
  • Provide frequent performance reporting to DC Operations leadership 
  • Identify trends and opportunities based on performance analytics 
  • Administer the DC Operations awards program for performance metrics 
  • Combine data inputs from multiple sources and partner to understand the full picture of external factors affecting performance 
  • Drive data based decision making in DC Operations

  Position Requirements:  
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field 
  • 2+ years of analytics and forecasting experience 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel and Access 
  • Understanding of database administration 
  • SQL and VBA experience strongly preferred 
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Apps strongly preferred 
  • Ability to interpret data with visualizations for problem solving 
  • Excellent attention to detail 
  • Demonstrated teamwork and communication skills 
  •  
Strong time management
