Position Overview:  

The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for the maintenance and improvement of production equipment and maintenance processes within the organization. This will include establishment of work instructions, preventative maintenance schedules and training for maintenance employees. 

Specific Duties Include:  

  • Exemplify and promote a culture of Safety at all times. Ensure all aspects of Safety (training, awareness, PPE’s, urgency, communication, etc.) are given the highest priority 
  • Execute Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodology for production equipment to ensure best-in-class uptime 
  • Execute preventive and predictive maintenance procedures based on scientific evaluation of equipment and components in order to maintain their operation at standard quality levels 
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels and supervision for maintaining production equipment and responding to production issues for all production shifts 
  • Maintain appropriate inventories of critical spare parts for key process equipment so that downtime is minimized for planned or unplanned maintenance 
  • Seek ways to continuously improve operations and identify and implement measures to increase throughput, reduce operating costs and improve operations 
  • Prioritize project initiatives using quality metrics, and track changes to metrics that may result from specific improvements 
  • Maintain machines to produce consistent parts of the highest quality 
  • Troubleshoot and repair machines 
  • Make improvements in reliability and functionality of machines 
  • Design and build parts to improve machine performance 
  • Design and execute experiments to determine the root cause of build failures 
  • Maintain a neat, clean and safe work environment at all times 
  • Work with safety representatives to establish and comply with all safety procedures, and cooperate during the investigation of any incidents or accidents 
  • Adhere to all quality and safety standards within the department 
  • Continually seek to improve work processes and individual performance 
  • Adhere to all company policies and operational procedures 
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned 

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • 3+ years of experience working in a production/manufacturing environment as a maintenance technician 
  • 4+ years of experience in a Maintenance lead or supervisory position 
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment 
  • Ability to help out and be productive where needed 
  • Ability to use a computer and calculator 
  • Able to be licensed to operate material handling equipment (forklift, pallet jack, overhead crane hoist, etc.) 
  • Good written and oral communication skills; ability to read and write English 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment 
  • Must be punctual and have good attendance 
  • Ability to comprehend and follow verbal and electronic work instructions from supervisors or technical leads 
  • Strong attention to detail 

Educations Requirements:  

  • High school diploma or equivalent education and experience 

Physical Demands:  

While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use a computer keyboard, monitor and mouse, telephone and printer. Stand or sit for the entire shift. Lift up to 70 pounds waist high, carry up to 70 pounds alone. Essential job duties require reaching, bending, and grasping. Able to read machine-shop gages and indicators. 

Work Environment:  

Indoors (A/C); nonsmoking; the majority of this job function is performed in a manufacturing setting requiring normal safety precautions (eye protection and hearing protection). Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
