    Responsibilities
    • Perform logistics planning for the organization by analyzing the mission, establishing program objectives and developing short and long-range plans for accomplishment of those objectives.
    • Develop doctrinally based logistics policy and guidance to ensure uniformity of standards across all subordinate units.
    • Analyze and evaluate logistics performance to detect developing trends and substandard performance of logistics support activities.
    • Accomplish on-site reviews of units to determine the adequacy of logistics management and adherence to logistics regulations.
    • Present and secure concurrence of plans, proposals, and methods for the correction of obstacles affecting logistic support.
    • Interview candidates and recommend appointment, promotion, or reassignment to positions in the office.
    • Periodically review job descriptions of subordinates for currency and accuracy.
    • Assign work to subordinates based on priorities and selective considerations of the difficulty of assignments and capabilities of employees.
    • Advanced experience and knowledge in utilizing the Global Combat Support System - Army (GCSS-A).

    In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.     Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes analyzing and evaluating logistics/maintenance performance to detect developing trends and substandard performance; developing logistical doctrine, concepts, and policies; managing input of maintenance data such as maintenance schedules, work order information, status changes, and supply updates; and recommending actions and initiatives to enhance logistics/maintenance management efficiency and effectiveness. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

    Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
