Oplink Communications, LLC a Molex company, is a leading provider of optical communication components, intelligent modules and subsystems. We are currently building our in house Engineering staff and are looking for a talented Sr. Hardware Engineer to join our team.

If you are looking for a way to accelerate your career and be part of a great company, this may be the opportunity for you. As a Sr. Hardware Engineer you will work within a small multi-disciplinary R&D team that designs Oplink’s active transmission optical components.

Job Summary:
Responsible for optical transceiver design and development from the phase of feasibility study, prototype, DVT, pilot run, qualification up to mass production.

Job Functions:

  • Evaluate and make selection on optical and electrical key components
  • Design optical transceiver hardware, provide guidance for PCB layout,
  • Act as technical leading role in coordinating and cooperating with multi-site engineers to plan and execute transceiver development
  • Perform optical transceiver tuning, testing, failure analysis and characterization
  • Support all the NPI activities to ensure successful product transfer
  • Complete technical documents, including design specification, schematic, test report, BOM, work instruction etc.

Supplementary Functions:
  • Support sales and marketing group to have design win

Position Qualifications

Training or skills required:
  • Familiarity with communication protocol such as IEEE, ITU-T, OIF, Telcordia standard etc. and industrial requirements such as CFPx, QSFP28 MSA etc.
  • Proficiency with schematic, PCB layout, RF circuit simulation CAD
  • Very Knowledgeable on transmission line, signal integrity and EMI, ESD
  • BS minimum in EE, Physics or equivalent. MS or higher preferred

Experience Required:
  • 5+ years work experience of hardware design in Telecom and Datacom industry.
  • 3+ years optical transceiver or transponder hardware design experience is desired, experience in 100G transceiver is strong plus.
