Job Description:
The Communications Specialist supports the creation and distribution of information that promotes the vision and goals of the organization to both internal and external contacts. The Communication Specialist also assists leadership with organization of the First Air Force One files and documenting the restoration.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Develops, implements, and coordinates communications programs that effectively describe and promote the organization, its culture and values
  • Executes the corporate communication and public relations strategy
  • Drafts and publishes guidelines and procedures for the effective distribution of information to both internal and external audiences
  • Assists with documenting the First Air Force One restoration
  • Organizes the First Air Force One files and supports leadership with organizing memorabilia
  • Maintains and influences intranet site content and design, including researching and publishing company stories, posting notifications for company-wide events, and updating company resources
  • Creates internal presentations to communicate and reiterate company culture and values
  • Coordinate company-wide employee meetings, including lunch-ins and all-hands meetings
  • Assists internal departments with the development of communication efforts and materials
  • Partners with internal resources to oversee and coordinate public website content, design, functionality and policies
  • On-site contact for hosting media and events
  • Monitors, reviews and contributes to corporate social media outlets
  • Writes and/or reviews articles to be used in company publications and disseminated to newspapers, television, and other forms of media
  • Coordinates facility tours with HR personnel, prepares presentations for visitors, and hosts tour groups as needed
  • Responsible for all public relations, marketing campaigns and external media contacts and publications.

Job Requirements:
  • High attention to detail and well organized
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous experience in a customer service/public relations position
  • Experience in an office setting handling confidential information
  • Ability to multi-task
  • College degree in English/Journalism, or other related field of study
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment meeting tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of AP style
