The Lead Systems Automation Engineer provides overall leadership and technical support for managing several functions of the automation and process control manufacturing systems (network servers, virtual nodes, firewalls, switches, process information systems, manufacturing applications, HMI workstations, etc.) across Honeywell Performance Materials and Technologies (PMT) plants in North America. You will plan short-term and long-term work for functions under your responsibility. You will develop and apply the appropriate processes for administrating the computing components in the technology. Lead management of technology documentation by designing, using, updating, and maintaining appropriate technical documentation for all systems in the technology. You will develop, know and apply process control technical standards in work performed in the technology, e.g., Standard Maintenance Practices, Engineering Best Practices, etc. Participation in preparation and use of standards for the technology (Architecture, networking, system administration, DCS, cyber-security, etc.).

  • Bachelors degree

  • Some experience in the design, maintenance, system administration, use and/or optimization of manufacturing and/or industrial computer systems (Servers, Switches, Firewalls, Security Applications, Workstations, DCS, PLC, HMI, networks, server-client architectures and applications, etc.)
  • Some experience working in a continuous or batch process environment
  • Exposure to Distributed Control Systems and/or Programmable Logic Controllers
  • Working knowledge of appropriate standards and protocols (TCP-IP, NIST 800-82, ISA 99, IEC 62443, Industrial Ethernet, OPC, Modbus, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server, Cisco IOS and VMWare
  • Experience with Honeywell industrial process controls and products
  • Strong Leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Individuals that quickly analyze, incorporate and apply new information and concepts.
