Desired:  Teaching Experience   The Department of Humanities and Communication at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor to teach courses in speech and intercultural communication.  
  • Teach an academic course load of 12 credits per semester in speech, inter cultural communication, and other communication courses as needed (with the potential to develop new courses). 
  • Participate in department, college, and university service and cultivate and maintain a research agenda in the candidate’s area of expertise. 

The Department of Humanities/Communications offers a range of general education courses and minors of study. We collaborate closely with other departments and programs to support the University’s core curriculum and STEM-related missions.
ERAU is an accredited, four-year, private, nonprofit university offering Bachelor and Master of Science degrees that are highly regarded in aviation, engineering, security, and related fields. 

  • Ph.D. in Communication, Rhetoric, or related field at the time of the appointment (Aug 16, 2019) 
  • Experience teaching speech and intercultural communication courses at the college level as well as evidence of scholarship and an interest in professional development 

Preferred Qualifications 
  • Expertise in small group, interpersonal, technical or science communication, or rhetoric of technology and/or science. 
  • Experience with communication course assessment.  
  • Experience with various methods and means of instructional delivery.  
  • Experience integrating critical thinking, global perspectives, and/or civic engagement into the curriculum.
