Summary:  Responsible for institutionalizing a safety culture throughout the Airport Customer Service and Cargo (ACS & CGO) Division through strong leadership and management skills that maintain the highest degree of integrity and credibility as it relates to the position of the Manager ACS Safety Compliance. Develops both strategic and tactical plans that create a safety conscious environment that results in employee, passenger, cargo and asset protection. Required to identify and formulate comprehensive solutions and communicate safety issues to all levels of leadership (management) in all divisions. Lead/manage the development of effective safety prevention programs and initiatives with realistic measurement capabilities to ensure a consistent safety performance for all ACS personnel, assets, cargo and passengers. Manages on-going and complex changes to TSA security requirements by interpreting requirements, developing new policies, procedures and tools to ensure safety compliance and by communicating with internal and external resources. Manages ongoing and complex changes to the ACS GOM, OSHA and FAA and ensure implementation of those changes. Develops both strategic and tactical plans that create a compliance conscious environment which results in customer, employee and asset protection. Regularly interfaces with defined corrective and preventative actions regarding safety compliance audits conducted internally and externally. Manages on-going and complex changes to regulatory requirements, developing new policies, procedures and tools to ensure safety compliance and by communicating with internal and external resources. Develops, implements and manages Airport Customer Service safety compliance metrics. Serves as liaison for Delta Safety initiatives across all divisions. Should be able to build effective safety business partnerships with Delta’s outside contractors/business partners. Provides leadership and direction to direct reports who will manage a team of frontline safety compliance auditors. Develops both strategic and tactical plans that create a safety-conscious environment resulting in employee safety and wellbeing.
Qualifications:  Leadership experience in safety, compliance, or operational management is required. A college degree and airline experience is strongly preferred. Work experience in operations, passenger service, air cargo, cabin service and a background in Airline Industry policies and procedures are highly desirable. Applicants should have a strong orientation toward operational duties along with self-motivation and a high proficiency in written and verbal communication skills. Should present a professional business like image, have a high work ethic and commitment to excellence. Should work well under pressure, be detail oriented, meet deadlines and exhibit excellent organizational skills. Candidate should possess exceptional computer skills with experience in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Should possess sound decision making abilities as well as analytical and organizational skills with the ability to handle several projects simultaneously.
