Job Summary   The Business Analyst is in charge of researching market information and shape it in a usable format to support strategic decision making. The high level scope of the research is around market size, market players, market shares, product groups and related sub-segments, volumes, prices, growth rates, forecast and trends. The position is also responsible for assisting the Director of Product Market Manager by analyzing multiple market dynamics/trends and uncover meaningful and workable leading indicators which allow for accurate forecasting of future volume within the Industry. He/she must translate that analysis into a set of processes, tools and reporting schemes that will allow the company to adjust its functioning from 1) short term operations to 2) annual budgets and 3) longer term expansion plans. The horizon ranges in time and accuracy from 1 month to 36 months. The individual is curious and analytic to help the company predict its business through deeper understanding of customers’ tactics and end-market strategies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS  :   

Perform a thorough Market Situational Analysis that gathers the data that will support the market strategy. The use of traditional market research analysis components includes but is not limited to:  

  • Value Chain Analysis  
  • Portfolio Analysis  
  • Life Cycle Analysis  
  • Sustainability Analysis  
  • Financial Analysis  
  • Risk Analysis  
  • Need based segmentation  
  • SWOT Analysis  
  • PESTER / 5 Forces Analysis  
  •  

Develop deep market intelligence by investigating and strengthening relationships in various market channels, including but not limited to:  

  • Industry associations  
  • Consultants, influencers  
  • Distributors  
  • Customers  
  • Groups of practitioners and end users.  
  •  

Uncover, screen and select meaningful and workable leading volume indicators of the Industry and develop appropriate tracking mechanisms Work with Account Managers to build a mechanism for managing customer forecast, harmonize various and heterogeneous practices into one single seamless process. Establish forecasts and contribute to the delivery of annual budget, including targeted growth from new opportunities Work with cross-functional teams to orchestrate & simplify forecasted volume to the key stakeholders (Demand Planners, Scheduling, Manufacturing. Analyze specific anomalies and abnormal events within the market and quantify impact on the company’s operations. Develop longer term volume models based on  

  • Identified key leading indicators

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:   

Understand customer processes, applications, and quality attributes and effectively communicates customer technology product requirements to Technology & Innovation and Marketing teams Work with commercial and technology teams to facilitate serving customers’ needs Anticipate, coordinate and respond to competitive environment and initiatives Ability to interact and engage with multiple functions within the company i.e. Production, Procurement, Commercial, and higher Management Identify other market trends and share market knowledge/findings with respective Business Units, contributing to the development of non-forecast related business strategies Each employee is responsible to manage their departments and perform their defined tasks in order to comply with and maintain the sites’ ISO 9000/1400 certification and all regulatory requirements and is expected to shut down the operation and notify management if questions regarding compliance or other issues requiring additional attention arise. Regulatory requirements include, but are not limited to cGMP’s, EPA, OSHA, DEA, DOT, and any other applicable local, governmental and company guidelines.  

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS  :   

Education:   

BA, Industrial Marketing, Excellent Excel knowledge with VBA Marco skills  

Experience:   

Minimum of 2-3 years related experience, market research tools and technics  

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:   

Strong analytical & rationale problem solving approach  

Skills/Competencies:   

Exceptional Track record analyzing & documenting business processes  

Time management and planning skills  

Managing through Influence  

Other Skills:   

Excellent communication & presentation skills
